Death Saturday Of Mrs. Sherm McCord In Lawton, Okla.
Mrs. Sherman G. McCord, 85, native daughter of Story county and longtime Story county resident died Saturday in the Lawton, Okla., hospital.
The body will arrive in Nevada this afternoon at 3 p. m. a short service will be held in the Ryan Funeral home with the Rev. F. A. Smith officiating. Burial will be in the McCord lot in the Iowa Center cemetery.
Mrs. McCord, a resident of Nevada for several years, was born Harriett Clothier, in Collins township and was married there Feb. 15, 1886 to Sherman G. McCord, brother of the late Chas. P. McCord, long time Nevada resident.
For many years they farmed in Collins township, living later for ten or 12 years near Colo before coming to Nevada. A number of years ago Mr. and Mrs. McCord moved to Lawton, Okla., where Mr. McCord passed away about ten years ago.
Mrs. McCord is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Irwin Ozmun of Lawton, Okla., and son Glenn McCord of Neosha, Mo. She also leaves three grandchildren and a number of nephews and nieces and other relatives.
