From Nevada Representative August 26, 1920 (page 1)

DEATH OF CAMBRIDGE MAN

Death came suddenly and very unexpectedly to Jonas Gravdahl, 56, a prominent and well known resident of the Cambridge neighborhood, early Sunday evening [August 22, 1920.]

Mr. Gravdahl's death is somewhat mysterious and by some thought to be the result of fright occasioned by the attempt of thieves to break into the house occupied by deceased and his housekeeper, Mrs. Ballard.

It seems that at about nine o'clock on Sunday night Mrs. Ballard heard sounds outside the house that would indicate prowlers were about and attempting to break into the house. On entering the room occupied by Mr. Gravdahl she him in an unconscious condition and death entered ere a physician, who was immediately summoned, arrived at the home.

Mr. Gravdahl sustained injuries of a more of less serious nature several days before his death when he fell from a mowing machine, but the attending physician is said to be of the opinion that none of those injuries caused his sudden passing and is firmly of the opinion that death came as a result of fright at the sound of burglars attempting to enter the house.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: According to his death record, Jonas Gravdahl was the son of S. and Elis Gravdahl/Grevadhl. This would be Sjur and Alice Gravdahl.
