THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, July 13, 2005.
Marvin Dean Jensen, 72, of rural Nevada, died Monday, July 11, of injuries sustained in a grain bin accident. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 15, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada with the Rev. Myron D. Herzberg officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Municipal Cemetery.
Marvin Dean Jensen was born on July 8, 1933, in Nevada to Lloyd William and Velma Fern (Kingsbury) Jensen. He was a 1950 graduate of Shipley High School. He married Joyce J. Sorenson on April 26, 1953, in Nevada. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955-57. He was a passionate farmer. He was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada. He was a lifelong resident of Story County and enjoyed auction sales.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce J. Jensen; one son, David Jensen; and one brother, Ivan Jensen, all of rural Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three infant sons, a son, Dale, on Dec. 22, 1976, one daughter, Delores Ann, on Aug. 3, 1992, and one brother, Ralph, on Oct. 15, 1951.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 14, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada.
A memorial fund has been established.
