THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, July 13, 2005.
Lisa Carney, 39, of Gardner, Kan., and formerly of Ames, died Sunday, July 10, in Kansas City, Mo. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Ames with the Rev. Ev Hemann officiating. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Lisa Carney was born Aug. 1, 1965, in Cedar Rapids to Gerald and Joyce (Hurt) Carney. She was a 1983 graduate of Ames High School and attended Iowa State University, studying art and education. She was employed as an insurance broker in Kansas; worked with Walt Disney Corp. for seven years; and worked in retail management in Des Moines, Davenport, Milwaukee, and Kansas City. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
She is survived by her parents, Gerald and Joyce (Hurt) Carney of Ames; one sister, Lynn Kooker of Olathe, Kan.; two brothers, Brett (Tabatha) of Storm Lake and Matt (Rhonda) of Ames; and nieces and nephews, Paige Carney, Brycen Carney, Tyler Carney, Devon Kooker, Samantha Carney, Gabriel Carney, Quinn Kooker and Mackenzie Carney.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 15, with Scripture service at 7:30 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Ames.
