SUDDEN DEATH OF DAVID BALLINGER
WELL-KNOWN FARMER VICTIM OF INTESTINAL FLU NEAR ZEARING
Zearing, Sept. 30--David Ballinger, 59, for over twenty years a resident of this community, died at his home on a farm southeast of Zearing, Tuesday evening at 5:15, a victim of intestinal flu, from which he had been a sufferer but since Sunday.
The body was brought to the Brouhard funeral home in Zearing, where it will be held pending funeral arrangements.
Mr. Ballinger was born on a farm east of Marshalltown November 12, 1872, and there he grew to manhood. He worked for five years as a fireman on the Northwestern out of Boone, but came to Zearing with his wife about twenty years ago and had since lived in this neighborhood, where he was a greatly esteemed citizen.
He leaves beside his wife Mrs. Esther Ballinger, two sons, Ray and Fay who are at home a sister Mrs. Hazel Borchert of Zearing. He also leaves a brother Jake Ballinger of Zearing and another, Murray Ballinger of Boone.
