Funeral of Mrs. Carr Saturday Afternoon

Funeral services for Mrs. Abbie Carr, 70, who died at the family home 225 J avenue, Thursday at 2:30 p. m., will be held at the Morfoot Funeral home Saturday afternoon at 2:30, with Rev. Sheldon of the Nevada Seventhday Adventist church in charge. Interment will be in the Nevada cemetery.

Mrs. Carr was a native daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pressly Pool, who came to Story county in 1855 and settled on a farm on East Indian Creek in section 26 Richland township.

She was the last of seven children who grew to manhood and womanhood. The others were the four brothers George, John, Nick and Elza Pool and the sisters Mrs. George Hyden and Mrs. William Kerr.

She was married to Benjamin F. Carr [Benoni Fortner Carr] 53 years ago. Of the four children born to them, Frank the only son, died when a child of six years and the eldest Rose Robertson [should be Robinson] lost her life in a train disaster fifteen years ago. An adopted son Russell Carr died in California about 18 months ago.

The daughters Myrtle Carr and Laura Davis, the latter of Des Moines, are left with their father.

Mrs. Carr had been a semi-invalid for about 4 years, part of which time she had spent in California with the family. She had been confined to her bed about two weeks where she had received the tender care of the family.
