FORMER ROLAND MAN DIED SUNDAY

P. C. RIERSON PASSED AWAY AT KANDIYOHI, FUNERAL WEDNESDAY

Special to the Journal.
Roland, April 6--P. C. Rierson, for eighteen years a resident of this community, died at the home in Kandiyohi, Minn., Sunday according to word received by relatives in Roland. Cancer was the cause of death. He had been a sufferer for a year or more, during which time he had been cared for by a daughter and a son.

Funeral services will be held at Willmar, Minn., Wednesday afternoon, after which the body will be laid to rest by the side of the wife, who died a number of years ago.

Mr. Rierson, a brother of Ole M. Rierson of Roland and a cousin of L. C. Rierson of Nevada, was a native of Norway, Europe. The family came first to Illinois, then he came out to Roland, where he lived for 18 years, after which he moved to Minnesota.

The surviving children are two daughters, Mrs. W. A. Gustafson and Mrs. R. V. Backmand [should be Backlund] and the son Pearl Rierson of Kandiyohi, Minn., and a daughter Mrs. C. C. Lawler in Minneapolis.
