DEATHS
MRS. ANNA FJELLAND
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Fjelland were held Thursday, March 26, at 1:30 p.m. at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church at Huxley.
Mrs. Jacob Lee served as organist and accompanied Mrs. Edward Larson as she sang "Jesus Keep Me Near the Cross" and "He Leadeth Me."
Rev. Marvin E. Nygaard officiated at the service, and chose as his sermon theme "Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead" based on 11 Tim. 2:8.
Pallbearers were John Hendricks, Edward Larson, Elden Bauge, Vernon Bauge, Adrian Halverson and Oman Overland.
Interment was in the Fjeldberg Cemetery at Huxley.
Anna Marie Tweedt, daughter of Terral and Helen Tweedt, was born on June 20, 1891, in Emmet County near Estherville. Her family moved back to the Huxley locality in 1899, and since she has lived in or near Huxley.
She died Monday, March 23, 1970, at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, at the age of 78 years.
She was baptized into the Lutheran faith, and was confirmed at Palestine Lutheran Church. Since her marriage, she has been a member of Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley.
On February 26, 1910, she was united in marriage to Ole Fjelland at Huxley. He preceded her in death on February 1, 1965. In 1960, the couple celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Gladys, a grandson, David, and a brother, Clarence Tweedt, all of Huxley.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Harry.
