DEATHS----

JOSEPH F. BROWNFIELD

Joseph F. Brownfield, 97, formerly of Marshalltown, died at Marshall County Care Facility Saturday, Feb. 16, 1985.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Colo United Methodist Church with Rev. James Tener officiating. Burial will be in Colo Cemetery.

Mr. Brownfield was born June 27, 1887, in Thomasboro, Ill., son of Alfred and Lida (Lowe) Brownfield. He was married to Lulu Dayton Aug. 26, 1912, in Monona, Ia. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include three daughters, Lois (Mrs. Galon) Stratton of Ames, Lillian (Mrs. O. L.) Wokoun of Decatur, Ill., and Marien (Mrs. John) Ewoldt of Witten, a son Glen Brownfield of Colo, seven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, a sister, Ruth Neeley of Urbana, Ill.

Mr. Brownfield was raised and educated in Thomasboro, Ill. He moved to Iowa in 1909. He farmed until 1946 and worked for Lennox Industries in Marshalltown, retiring in 1958.

Pursel-Davs Funeral Home of Marshalltown is in charge of arrangements.
