Funeral Services for Joe Frundle

Special to the Journal.
Slater, April 9--The funeral services for Joe Frundle of Lemmon, S. D., were held at the Methodist church at Slater Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The services were in charge of Rev. Clarence De Fur of Madrid. Members of the Masonic lodge of Madrid served as pall bearers. Two duets, "My Faith Looks Up to Thee" and "God's Way" were sung by Mrs. M. S. Heggen and Mrs. A. L. Peterson.

An abundance of beautiful floral offerings covered the casket and banked the altar.

Joe Frundle was born in Le Grand, November 19th, 1876 and died at Lemmon, S. D., April 2, 1932, from cerebral hemorrhage. The remains were shipped to the Sundberg funeral home in Madrid and brought here for the services Friday. Mr. Frundle lived for many years in Slater where he was a telegraph operator, employed by the Milwaukee railroad. He was married to Amanda Bassett, November 19th, 1895. They later moved to Lemmon, S. D., where he has been the Milwaukee agent for the past 17 years. Funeral services were held in Lemmon after which the remains were shipped to Madrid. The Masonic lodge had charge of the commital exercises at the city cemetery. Mr. Frundle was a Knight Templar and Shriner and active in the affairs of his home, city and community. He is survived by his wife, two brothers, Emil Frundle of LeGrand and Frank Frundle of Marshalltown, two sisters, Mrs. Davis of Marshalltown and Mrs. Huron of Belle Plaine.

Among those from out of town in attendance at the funeral services were Guy L. Bassett of Colorado Springs, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Croft of Toledo, Mr. and Mrs. Davis and family of Marshalltown, Emil Frundle and family of LeGrand, Frank Frundle of Marshalltown, Mrs. Huron of Belle Plaine, Mr. and Mrs. Bevington, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Stevenson of Des Moines, Mrs. Ballington, Wm. Miller of Perry, Mr. and Mrs. Langdon of Marshalltown, Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Graves of Madrid.
