From Nevada Representative February 23, 1898 (page 4)
Obituary.
Milton P Webb died Friday, February 18, 1898 at his home in this city age 49 years, 4 month and 14 days. This was the conclusion of a long illness which for many months had been little warning of an immediate end, his death occasions no surprise. The deceased was born in Polk county October 4, 1848, but grew up at or near Iowa Center in Story county. He was educated in Simpson College at Indianola and graduated from the State University law school in 1876. He practiced law at Slater--was nominated from there for county attorney and elected in 1890. He removed soon after to Nevada, were he continued to reside. He was married in 1878 to Miss Seal, niece of Moses Seal of Cambridge, and leaves a wife and two children. Mr. Webb was a man who deserved and held the respect of the community in which he lived. He was for twenty years a faithful member of the Methodist church, and he was uniformly found upon the right side of public and moral questions. He had suffered a good deal from indifferent health; and last spring his mental vigor gave evidence also of diminution. From that time he gradually wasted away, and nothing that was done or could be done for him had any material effect. His funeral was conducted from the Methodist church Sunday at two o'clock by Rev. D. Austin, and he was buried in the Nevada cemetery with Masonic rites.
