the body of George Stultz, 75, native son of Story county, was laid to rest in the family lot in the Nevada cemetery Friday afternoon, following funeral services held earlier in the day in Winterset.

The deceased, born on a Lafayette township farm, was a son of the real pioneer families of Story county and was well remembered by many people of Nevada and other parts of the county.

He was a son of the late Mrs. Stultz of Nevada and a brother of Mrs. Ida Stultz Wood, who died two years ago.

George Harvey Stultz was born in Story county on a farm which was comprised of the land which is now the site of Story City, January 25, 1858. He grew to manhood in the community of his birth, and was there united in marriage in 1883 with Agnes James. Two children were born to this union. The children are Mrs. Frank Cummins of Peru, Iowa, and Fred Stultz of Briton, South Dakota.

Mrs. Stultz died in 1895. Two years later Mr. Stultz moved to Winterset and there for many years operated a livery business. In 1900 he was married to Priscilla James, of Pollard, Oregon, a cousin of the first Mrs. Stultz. For the past thirty-six years Mr. Stultz has been a resident of Winterset, and had many friends in that community.

For the past two years Mr. Stultz had been afflicted with heart asthma. His death was sudden and unexpected however as he had not been confined to his home at all. He drove his car down town on Monday and was in usual health condition. At ten o'clock that night he suffered a severe attack and passed away about three on Tuesday morning.

Mr. Stultz was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal church at Winterset, also member of Evening Star Lodge No. 43 A. F. and A. M. and of Eastern Star Chapter No 180 of Winterset.
