SUDDEN DEATH OF GEORGE WALDIE

ZEARING MAN FOUND DEAD IN HIS BED EARLY THIS MORNING.

Special to the Journal.
Zearing, June 15--George H. Waldie, 59, lifelong resident of this community, was found dead in his bed at the home here at 6:30 a. m. today, by his sister, Clara Waldie, with whom he had made his home for the past 15 years.

He had retired in his usual health last evening and his death evidently from a heart attack, came as a distinct shock to the community, where he had lived since a child.

The funeral services will be held at the home, probably Monday afternoon, and interment will be in the family lot in the State Center cemetery. In the meantime the body will be at the Brouhard funeral home pending definite funeral arrangements.

George H. Waldie was born at Heyworth, Illinois, January 19, 1874, a son of William J. and Eliza J. [should be Louisa J.] Waldie. The family came to this community when George was a babe and with the exception of one year spent in California, his home had always been in the Zearing or Clemons neighborhoods.

The father died years ago and the mother but a few months ago. He was never married and leaves three brothers and sisters. The brothers are John of Chicago, William of Forest city and Earl of Marshalltown, while the sisters are Mrs. Mary Clemons of Nevada and Clara Waldie of Zearing.

He was a member of the local lodges of I. O. O. F. and Rebekahs and was widely known in the community.
