Funeral Services for Mrs. Jack Isenberg
Special to the Journal.
McCallsburg, March 7--The funeral of Mrs. Jack Isenberg, who died February 27 in Chicago, took place Thursday, March 2, from the Lutheran church in McCallsburg, Rev. H. N. Bakke being in charge. Mesdames Skartvedt and Imsland accompanied by Charlotte Ritland sang two very beautiful duets. The pastor spoke on Job 19, 25-27.The pallbearers were O. O. Hauskins, C. J. Hauskins, Ole Hauskins, Martin Teig, James Johnson and Miller Grimsley. The remains were laid to test in the local cemetery.
Mrs. Jack Isenberg, whose maiden name was Jennie Grimsley, was born at McCallsburg, March 28, 1905.
June 21, 1926, she married Mr. Jack Isenberg of Chicago and has since lived in that city. About fourteen months ago she became ill with a malady from which she never recovered. She died Feb. 27, 1933, 27 years, 10 months and 29 days old.
Left to mourn her departure is her husband, Jack Isenberg, Chicago; her father, Tom Grimsley of Clear Lake, Minn.; her two brothers, Martin and Orville Grimsley of Thompson, Iowa; her two half sisters, Myrtle and Leona Grimsley; her two half brothers, Gerald and Leslie Grimsley.
Her mother, Mrs. Tom Grimsley, died in 1909 and is buried at McCallsburg. Two sisters have preceded her in death, Olive Grimley (Mrs. Oscar Helland) died in 1917*, and is buried at McCallsburg, Elizabeth Grimsley (Mrs. Faris) died in 1927 and her remains rest in the soil of Texas.
*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Her sister, Olive Grimsley was listed as Olive Jacobson, daughter of Hans Jacobson and Ann Hauskin. She married Oscar Helland 1 February 1911 in Story County, Iowa. Her sister Lizzie Grimsley married Robert Ray Faris on 2 August 1916 in Roland, Story County, Iowa.
