Funeral Services for Mrs. Campbell Were Held Sunday
Special to the Journal.
Colo, Dec. 4--Funeral services for Mrs. James Campbell, 76, who died at her home here on November 28, were held Sunday, December 1, at 2:00 from Calvary Evangelical church of Colo, with her pastor, Rev. Wood in charge. Interment was in the family lot in the Zearing cemetery.A ladies quartette, consisting of Lois Yeager, Lois Dickenson Isabell Bamford and Veva Hopkins sang the songs, with Lois Dickenson at the piano.
Those in charge of the flowers were Mrs. Mae Perry and Beulah Perry. Pallbearers were Ross King, Charles Yeager, Gus Hall, Frank Settle and Robert Jack.
Sarah C. Campbell, daughter of William and Jane Cozzens, was born at Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, Feb. 11, 1859.
She came to Colo with her parents in 1864 and resided around Colo the remainder of her life.
On Sept. 24, 1883, she was married to James Campbell of Princetown, Ill., who preceded her in death on May 24, 1907.
To this union were born three children: William F. Campbell of Colo; Mrs. Effie Crosby Deal of Zearing and Russell Campbell of Nevada.
Besides her children she is survived by two brothers and one sister who are William Cozzens of Hayden, Colorado; Sam Cozzens of Longview, Washington and Mrs. Ira Siddall of Laurens, Iowa and five grandchildren, Lowell, Avalea and Jeanne Crosby of Glendale, Calif., and one great grand-daughter, Phyllis Elaine Crosby.
She was a faithful attendant to all of the church activities and took her part as long as her health permitted.
For the past 44 month she has been confined to her home where she endured a great deal of suffering.
She passed away quietly at 10 p. m. Nov. 28, 1935 at the age of 76 years, eight months and 17 days.
