OBITUARY

MRS. CARL BINDER

Mary Hebler was born in Germany, October 27, 1837. In 1857 she was united in marriage to Mr. Carl Binder. They came to America in 1864. After living five years in Canada they came to Colo, Iowa. Seven children were born to them, six of whom survived their parents. One daughter, Mrs. Caroline Munn [should be Muhm], passed away several years ago. Mr. Binder departed this life thirty-three years ago. Mrs. Binder kept the home for the children until they were established for themselves. The youngest son John was living with his mother at the time of her death, which occurred Wednesday morning, September 3, 1919. Her age was 81 years, 10 months and 6 days. She hand not been feeling well for about three weeks but was confined to her bed only three days. Death was due to heart disease. Mrs. Binder was a woman of noble christian character, a faithful loving wife and mother, a good neighbor and a true friend She leaves to mourn their loss Four sons, Edward, Frank and Charles of Baraboo, Wisconsin, and John of Colo; two daughters, Mrs. Amanda Thornton of Butterfield, Minnesota, and Mrs. Mary Morgan of Scranton, Several grandchildren and great grandchildren, besides many friends. Mrs. Thornton of Butterfield, Minnesota and her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Porter of Winnebago, Minnesota, arrived Thursday. The other children reached home before their mother's death.

Funeral services were held at the home Friday afternoon conducted by Rev. L. E. Coleman who spoke from the text chosen by the deceased II Tim. 4:7-8. Interment was made besides her husband in the Colo cemetery. Sincere sympathy is extended to the sorrowing ones.
