Pardue Funeral Held This Afternoon

Funeral services for N. S. Pardue, 75, Nevada man, who died at the home of a sister at Edwardsville, Kan. December 29, were held this afternoon at 2:30 at the Morfoot Funeral home, with Elder Fries in charge.

The songs were by W. C. Foreman, accompanied by Ollie Taylor Gant. Burial was in the Nevada cemetery by the side of his wife who passed away four years ago.

Relatives here for the funeral were his daughters, Rose, whose home is in Nevada and who made a home for the father when he was here; the son, Joe, who arrived from Des Plaines, Ill., Sunday night, the brother Charles and wife who accompanied the body from Kansas and another brother, Ephraim who came from his home at Fort Collins, Calif.

Newton S. Pardue was born Nov. 18, 1854, at Friendship, Virginia, and passed away Dec. 29, 1933, at the age of 75 years, one month and 11 days.

He was united in marriage on April 28, 1890 to Johanna Fisher, who preceded him in death, June 3, 1930.

Six children were born to this union, four of whom survive him. They are Marie, now Mrs. Joe Kelley of St. Louis, Mo., Sylvia, no Mrs. Luther Bell of Eubank, Ky., Joe Pardue of Des Plaines, Ill. and Rose Pardue of this city. There are also six grandchildren.

Besides the immediate family, Mr. Pardue leaves three brothers, Charles of Edwardsville, Kan., Eph of Fort Collins, Colo., Bob of Walden, Wyo., and 2 sisters, Mrs. Jennie Graven at Portland, Ore., Mrs. Nan Vanalotine [should be VanAlstine] of La Dals, Oregon.
