Funeral Services for Arlotte Sampson
Special to the Journal.
McCallsburg, June 5--The funeral of Arlotte Sampson, 20, was held Sunday afternoon at the Bethany Lutheran church in McCallsburg, following a prayer service at the home and was conducted by the pastor Rev. H. N. Bakke and was very largely attended. The music was furnished by Mrs. B. A. Imsland and Mrs. Ray Skartvedt who sang "Does Jesus Care" and Mrs. O. E. Ritland who sang Arlotte's favorite song "The Old Rugged Cross."Six cousins served as pall bearers, Russel Michaelson, Thompson, Askel Sampson, Roland, Orris Strum, Adrian Helland, Albert Sampson and William Robinson and burial was in the Warren township cemetery.
Arlott Marie Sampson daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam T. Sampson, was born near McCallsburg, May 21, 1915 and passed away Thursday night, Aug. 29 at the General hospital in Des Moines at the age of 20 years. She had been a patient in the hospital the past few weeks suffering from intestinal flu and other complications. She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran church and graduated from the McCallsburg high school with the class of '34.
She is survived by her parents, four sisters Ora, Edna, Marie and Joyce and three brothers Shurdan, James and Jesse all at home.
The relatives from out of town in attendance were Lars C. Olson, Colorado Springs, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. Edd Helland and daughters Irene and Violet, Russel and Alice Michaelson of Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Ivoe Moon and Otas Helland, Chicago, Ill.
