THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Thursday, February 23, 1956, “CATHRINE BERNICE HARMON – Funeral services for Cathrine Harmon were held Sunday at 2:30 p. m., Feb. 19, 1956, at the Maxwell Methodist church with the Rev. Oren B. Hall officiating. Burial was in the Peoria cemetery. Alice Gooden sang In the Garden and Beyond the Sunset accompanied on the organ by Ina Larsen. The beautiful floral offerings were taken care of by Marian Dunahoo, Lois Pyle, Mildred Young and Georgena Dobson. Casket bearers were K. W. Tomlinson, Joe Young, Lester Dunahoo, Dale Pyle, W. D. Cairns and Loran Davis. Honorary bearers were Orpheus Pritchard, Carl Howell, L. R. Davis and Forrest Scott. Cathrine Bernice Fanning, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Fanning, was born Oct. 26, 1879, at Sioux City, and passed away at the Lutheran hospital, Feb. 17, 1956, at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 21 days. Nov. 4, 1903, she was united in marriage to Vern Harmon and to this union one daughter, Vera, was born. Her entire life was spent in the Maxwell vicinity with the exception of six years, during which time she cared for an aunt in Salt Lake City. Cathrine was one of 14 children. Her parents, three sisters and three brothers preceeded her in death. They were: Mrs. Jennie Langford, Joe Fanning and Tom Fanning of Milford, Mrs. Anna Hanna and John Fanning of Everly and Mrs. Mary Huizega of Pipestone, Minn. She is survived by her husband, Vern, her daughter and son-in-law, Vera and Jack Viers, two grandsons; Kenton and Paul; two great grandsons: Kris and Eric and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Bell Myers, Grover Fanning, James Fanning of Hartley, Mrs. Susie Franker, of Spirit Lake, Mrs. Hazel Trarop of Evansville, Ind., Frank Fanning of Moneta and Robert Fanning of Billings, Mont. Nieces and nephews and many, many friends. “Katie” as she was know by all, was a kind and loving wife, mother and friend. It is said of her that those who knew her best, loved her most.
