Margaret Evaline Meyers Was Laid to Rest
Special to the Journal.
Maxwell, July 25--Funeral services for Margaret Evaline Meyers who passed away Sunday, July 21, were held in the Brethren church Tuesday at 2:30 with Rev. C. E. Lookingbill in charge, assisted by Rev. T. U. Reed. Music was furnished by a quartette composed of Mrs. T. C. Reed, Mrs. Miles Cook, Albert Green and Harry Fackler. The flower girls were: Eva Lowe, Ava and Leota Allen and Glorine Devilbiss. The pallbearers were: Hayes Kirkland, Maynard Randol, Dean Henning, Byron Carver, Merrill Hoyt and Ralph Bell. Interment was in the Brethren cemetery.Margaret Evaline Meyers, youngest daughter of Sam and Lizzie Meyers, was born March 21, 1917 and passed away at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines, Sunday, July 21, 1935 after a four weeks illness, aged 18 years and four months. She was preceded in death by two small sisters, Hazel and Iva.
Margaret had lived her entire life in this community. She attended the Maxwell schools and was a member of the senior class of 1935. Margaret united with the Brethren church in 1932.
Besides her parents she is survived by two brothers, Keith and Kenneth, one sister, Neva Rodefer, a sister-in-law, Margaret Meyers, two nieces, Lorine and Joann, also numerous friends and relatives.
