Funeral Services for Hila E. Hoover Were Held Here Sunday

Funeral services for the late Hila E. Hoover, 50, who died at the home of his sister, Mrs. W. P. Hughes here Thursday, was held from the Bishop Funeral home on Sunday afternoon and interment was in the Nevada cemetery.

Hila E. Hoover, son of Z. W. and Hattie Hoover was born at Salina, Kansas, March 5, 1885 and died June 6, 1935 at Nevada, Iowa, at 50 years, 3 months and one day of age.

In early childhood he moved to Mount City, Kansas, with his parents, where he grew to manhood later going to Colorado where on July 5, 1917 he was united in marriage to Neva Hoover.

To this union three daughters were born who survive him. They are Mrs. Ralph Hungate, Mrs. Lowell Cooper and Lila Hoover and one granddaughter, Bonnie Gail Hungate, all of this community.

Also left to mourn his loss are his aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Z. W. Hoover of Mound City, Kansas and three sisters and two brothers.

They are Mrs. W. P. Hughes of Nevada; Mrs. L. E. Blackburn of Genoa, Colo., Mrs. W. E. Moore of Rawlins, Wyo., W. W. Hoover of Mound City, Kan., and a host of other relatives and friends.

For the past five years he has made his home with Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Hughes and will be greatly missed as he was loved for his kind disposition and smile for everyone and his belief of the betterment of things in the community.

Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Z. W. Hoover, Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Hoover of Mound City, Kansas, W. W. Hoover of Fairbury, Illinois, Mrs. W. E. Moore of Hawlins, Wyo., Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Hoover of Kansas City, Kansas, Mrs. Clyde Rollings and son Ivan of Lake Crystal, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Monroe of Lake Crystal, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Frank Males and three daughters, Violet, Dorothy and Gale, Mrs. Mildred Hughes and son Charles of Clemons.
