THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, June 21, 2005.

Glen Sanders, 86, of Marion, Ill., died at 6 a.m. on Monday, June 20, at home.Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Freedom Cemetery south of Marion with the Rev. Dale Barnhurst officiating.

Glen Sanders was born on June 15, 1919, in Unionville, the son of Zora and Maud (McKinley) Sanders. He married Jeanette Woods Oct. 1, 1940, in Waukon. She preceded him in death on Nov. 29, 2004. He worked as a mechanic for the state of Iowa. He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Nevada. He loved to garden, help his friends and neighbors, and he will be remembered for his sense of humor. He will be missed by all.

He is survived by one daughter, Knaldean Kelton of Creal Springs; one son, Duane Sanders of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother; and three sisters. He will be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, Rodney Sanders; two brothers; and one sister.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959.
