FORMER NEVADA WOMAN IS DEAD

MRS. C. P. SOPER PASSED AWAY AT HOSPTIAL IN CEDAR FALLS

News of the death of Mrs. Viola Soper, 67, wife of Dr. C. P. Soper, a former Nevada resident but now of Janesville, in Bremer county, which occurred at Sartori hospital, Cedar Falls on Saturday, reached here today.

Mrs. Soper, who had been a resident of Janesville for nine years had been a patient at the hospital for five weeks, suffering from fractured hip sustained in a fall at her home. Direct cause of death was pneumonia which developed following her injury, according to the son Harry Soper, who stopped in Nevada to day, on his way to Des Moines on business.

The deceased, a sister of the late John McConkie of Nevada, was born at Olin, in Jones county, October 29, 1867. She grew to womanhood there and was married to Dr. C. P. Soper.

The family lived in Nevada for a number of years, during which time Dr. Soper was engaged in the practice of medicine and surgery, leaving here possibly fourteen years ago going from here to Floyd and later to Janesville.

Surviving Mrs. Soper besides the husband, are the daughter Blanche, now Mrs. Roy Van Deest of Cedar Falls and one son Harry Soper, who has been located at Walton, N. Y. for the past fifteen years.

The son left his New York home immediately upon receipt of the word of the death of the mother and arrived in Cedar Falls for the funeral, which was held there on Tuesday. Interment was in Greenwood cemetery at Cedar Falls.

Mrs. Soper, a member of the Janesville Methodist church and Order of the Eastern Star, is most kindly remembered by a large circle of former friends in Nevada.
