Mrs. Julia Garlock Died at Home of a Brother Sunday
Mrs. Julia Garlock, 67, widow of the late Joe Garlock and for many years a resident of Nevada township, five miles southeast of Nevada, died Sunday morning at 11:30 at the home of her brother, J. W. Kopf, 3 miles west of Collins, where she had spent the past seven weeks of her life.
Heart trouble and other complications were the cause of death. She had been a most patient sufferer and her care had been made really a pleasure for those who administered to her in the home.
The body was taken to Maxwell where it will be at the O. M. Strombeck home until Tuesday. Funeral services will be at the Loring church, Tuesday at 2:30 after which interment will be in the Loring cemetery by the side of the husband who died about four years ago. The services will be in charge of Rev. Deedrick pastor of the Nevada Evangelical church of which she was a member. He will be assisted by Rev. Charles Pickford, also of Nevada.
She was born on a farm near the site of the town of Farrar, August26, 1866, a daughter of Ludwig and Isabella Kopf.
She was married to Joe Garlock. In 1896 and for fourteen years they lived on the old Garlock homestead after which they located on a small piece of land southeast of Nevada, near the home of her sister Mrs. F. A. Alderman.
The home was continued there until after the death of the husband and until about a year ago when she gave up her home and came in to Nevada, where she continued her home until illness compelled her to give up her work and she went to the home of her only brother for care.
One brother Martin Kopf and a sister Mrs. Alderman died in Nevada during the past few years and Mrs. Garlock leaves only her one brother J. W. Kopf of near Maxwell and a number of nieces and nephews.
She also leaves a wide circle of friends who will mourn her passing.
