Arcule Bergeron, age 74, a well known resident of Colo, passed away Dec. 27, 1928 at the home of his daughter, Julia Wilson at Omaha, Nebr., following a ten days illness. Arcule Bergeron was born in Arthatasbka, Quebec, March 8, 1854. With his parent came to Illinois at the age of three years and resided there until 1874. He then moved to Hastings, Nebr. He was united in marriage to Anna Prince, Jan. 9, 1883, at Hastings where they resided until they came to Colo, Oct. 7, 1913. Six children were born to this union all of whom survive him. The mother having preceded in death May 28, 1921 He leaves to mourn their loss, two sons, Eugene of Omaha, Nebr., Arthur of Milwaukee, Wis. Four daughters Mrs. Julia Wilson of Omaha, Nebr., Mrs. Alvina Bruce of Colo, Mrs. Eleanor Dunning of Cedar Rapids an Mrs. Evelyn Cleverly of Maxwell, fifteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, one sister Louisa Gauveriau [should be Gauvreau] of Omaha, two brothers, John of Long Beach, Calif., Alex of Oakland, Calif., and a host of friends. Funeral services were held in St. Mary's church at Colo, Sunday at 10:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Father Mulligan. Interment was made in St. James cemetery.
