Funeral Services For Mrs. Lyle Scott Were Held in Maxwell
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 from the Christian church in Maxwell for Mrs. Lyle Scott, former Nevada resident, with the Rev. Ben Harris of Union officiating, assisted by Rev. Ira Carney, local pastor.
The flower bearers were Mamie Biersborn, Viola Carer, Ruth Reece and Edith Lenning.
Organ music was played before and following the funeral service by Mrs. Ned Pearson.
The casket bearers were nephews of the deceased: Donn Higgs, James Higgs, Leonard Dueland, Verle Myers, Arthur Porter and Richard Shackelford of Maxwell.
Interment was in the Maxwell cemetery.
Obituary
Anna Agnes, daughter of Morris Delia Jess, was born in Mansfield, Illinois, August 31, 1888 and died November 28, 1951 in Des Moines, after an eight-month illness. When she was only four years of age, her mother passed away. She was then taken to the home of her grandparents near Nevada, where she grew to womanhood.
After teaching school several years in the vicinity of Maxwell, she was united in marriage to Lyle G. Scott. To this union four children were born, two of which preceded her in death, Donald and Mrs. Eloise Lyon.
Surviving are the husband, two sons, Dr. Robert M. Scott of Sioux Falls, S. Dak., and Dr. Lyle Scott of Huxley, her only sister, Mrs. Sarah Atkinson of Des Moines, three granddaughters, three grandsons and a host of relatives and friends.
