Aged Nevada Woman Died Early Today at County Home

Mrs. Laura Leonard, 93, for two-thirds of a century a resident of Nevada, died early today at the Story county home, where she had been cared for a number of years. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Bishop Funeral home in Nevada, after which interment will be in the local cemetery.

Mrs. Leonard, whose maiden name was Laura Reynolds, was born at Rochelle, Illinois, March 9, 1840. She was married in 1866, to Charles Leonard, a young soldier who had but just been discharged from the army.

Shortly after their marriage they came to Nevada and the family home was for many years on the east side of Seventh street, between G and H avenues, on the site of the present home of Mrs. U. S. Alderman.

There were two children, a son Corwin and daughter, Alice, but they, with the husband and father preceded her in death many years ago.

Mrs. Leonard had for a long period of time been a believer in the Seventhday Adventist faith and had been active in affairs of that church, so long as her health permitted.
