Last Rites Held For Mrs. A. Kelderhouse

Mrs. Austin H. Kelderhouse, 80, died at her home in Collins Sunday morning at 8:15, after having been bedfast since July.

Funeral services were conducted at the Collins Methodist church on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 20, at 2 o'clock by her minister, the Rev. Louis H. Joslin. Interment was made in Collins Evergreen cemetery.

Music was given by Miss Lola Oswat and a mixed quartet.

The floral arrangement was by Mrs. Donald Titus and Mrs. Ora Hanson.

Casket bearers were Clarence Tordoff, Kenneth Tordoff, Mervill Tordoff, Irving Drake, Alfred Kelderhouse and Walter Kelderhouse.

Obituary

Ada E. Kelderhouse, the daughter of George and Harriet Tordoff, was born October 12, 1870, in Shelborne, Ma., and passed away at her home in Collins on Sunday, December 17, 1950, at 8:15 p. m., at the age of 80 years, two months and five days.

On June 20, 1894, she was united in marriage at Cedar Rapids to Austin Kelderhouse. To this union were born three sons and five daughters, seven of whom with the husband, survive her. One daughter, Etta Coles, preceded her in death in 1947.

The children are Chester of Iowa Falls, Everett of Collins and Floyd of State Center; Bertha Weis of Cedar Rapids; Mabel Deal of Des Moines; Gladys Dulaney of Bluford, Ill.; and Viola Abarr of Knoxille, Ia.

Also surviving are two sisters Mrs. Minnie Kelderhouse of Iowa Falls and Miss Hannah Tordoff of Shelborne Falls, Mass.; also 24 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, a number of nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Kelderhouse moved to a farm near Cedar Rapids, where they lived about three years, then on Feb. 18, 1898, they purchased a farm near Collins, where they resided until 1945, when they retired, moving to Colo for a year, then coming to Collins where they maintained a residence until Mrs. Kelderhouse passed away on December 17.

In early girlhood, Mrs. Kelderhouse united with the Evangelical church near Collins, and in 1920 became, with her husband, a member of the Collins Methodist church under the ministry of the Rev. Mr. Ingvoldstad.
