Funeral Services for Mrs. Stena Weeks at Fjeldberg Church

Special to the Journal.
Huxley, Jan. 21--Funeral services for Mrs. Stena Weeks were held at the Fjeldburg church at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon following a brief prayer service at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Cora Harestad. The services opened by singing a hymn "Blessed Are the Heirs of Heaven," after which Rev. Sampson had scripture reading. Miss Mae Ford of Ames sang as a solo, a favorite Norwegian hymn "Den Store Hvide Flok Vi Se." The pastor chose for his text the 16th verse in the 4th chapter in the first letter to the Thessalonians.

After the sermon there was another hymn "What A Friend We Have in Jesus," and a vocal duet "God Will Take Care of You," by Gladys Rullestad and Mae Ford. The floral offerings were very beautiful and there were very beautiful and there were many gifts to the missions in memory of Mrs. Weeks, who had a large circle of friends in the community. She was a faithful member of her church and Ladies Aid society.

Six nephews serve as pall bearers -- Howard Heggen, Ray Walker and George Heggen of Des Moines; Will Walker of Slater, and W. R. Richardson of Huxley. Interment was in the family lot in the Fjeldberg cemetery.
