Ole H. Dobbe Services Held In Huxley Recently

HUXLEY Funeral services for Ole H. Dobbe were held Monday, Nov. 26 in the Palestine Lutheran church at Huxley at 2 p. m. in charge of Pastor Harry Stoutland. Burial was in the Palestine cemetery. A granddaughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Richardson sang "In the Sweet By and By." A great granddaughter, Barbara Dobbe, sang "The Old Rugged Cross."

Pallbearers were nephews, Arthur Larson of Ames, Leonard and Burt Wood of Eagle Grove, Chris Wee, Miller Wee an Milton Dobbe of Huxley.

Ole H. Dobbe passed away Nov. 22, 1956 at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames at the age of 85 years and 24 days. He was born Oct. 29, 1871 and was baptized and confirmed in the Palestine church in Huxley. In 1892 he was married the Martha Richardson of Huxley. To this union was born one son, Sanford. Mrs. Dobbe passed away when Sanford was two years old. In 1899 Mr. Dobbe married Martha Hanson and they made their home in Huxley for 46 years. She preceded him in death in 1945. Others preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Dobbe; two brothers, Lars and John an three sisters, Helen (Mrs. T. K. Twedt), Carrie (Mrs. Lars Wee) and Randy (Mrs. Sam Larson.)

He is survived by his son, Sanford of Huxley, one sister, Mrs. Betsy Wood of Eagle Grove, four grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Those attending the funeral services from out of town were Mrs. Betsy Wood, Leonard, Edward, Burt and Sylvan of Eagle Grove an a grandson, Marion Dobbe of Canton, S. D.
