THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, October 16, 1941, page1, column 2. “MRS. LOIS SOLBRACK – Lois Alder Solbrack, daughter of Charles and Minnie Alder, was born in Polk County, Iowa, Nov. 1, 1900. While apparently making a satisfactory recovery from her illness she was suddenly stricken and passed away at the hospital at Springfield, Mo., on Friday, Oct. 10, 1941, at the age of fory** years, eleven months and ten days. On the 28th day of February, 1918, she was united in marriage to R. J. Solbrack. To this union were born eight children; Mrs. Ruth Seiberling, of Mitchellville; Helen, Jimmie, Wilme** and Wilbur at home. The eldest, Leslie, passed away in July and the baby daughter preceded her mother by just a few days. Dale passed away in 1932. Two brothers, Jay and Arley Alder, one granddaughter also survive. Mrs. Solbrack has lived most of her life in this community, but since the first of March this year the family has been near Urbana, Mo. The funeral was held at the Peoria cemetery at 2:00 o’clock Tuesday afternoon. Rev. P. R. Epley officiated.” **Editorial note – spelling is used from the original newspaper article.
