THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, January 24, 1901, page 5. " Mr. Jonathan See, of Iowa Center, died this (Wednesday) morning at 5:30. The funeral services will be held in the Bethel church, Iowa Center, Thursday at two p. m."
THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, January 31, 1901, page 4. "OBITUARY - Jonathan See was born in Kanawha county, Virginia, December 22, 1818, and died at his home in Iowa Center, Iowa, January 23, 1901, aged eighty-two years, one month and one day. In 1849 he was married to Margaret Kelley in the state of Illinois. The same year they came to Iowa to reside. In 1856 he suffered the loss of his companion. Two children were born to them, Mrs. Zina Wamer, of Great Falls, Montana, and Mrs. Geo. Bryant, of McCallsburg, Iowa. In 1864 he was married to Mary Dawson, who survives his death and mourns his loss. Twelve children were born to them, ten of whom are living, some in Grinnell, Iowa, and the remainder in Iowa Center. With the exception of eight years spent in Missouri, he had lived in Iowa since 1849, a period of fifty-two years. The services were held in Bethel church, Iowa Center, January 24th, by Rev. Pickford and interment made in the cemetery at the above place. CARD OF THANKS - We which to thank the people of Iowa Center and vicinity who were so kind to us in extending their help and sympathy during the recent sickness and death of our husband and father. Mrs. Ellen See and children."
