THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday March 19, 1931, page 1. "GUY ROBERTSON DIES AT SANITARIUM - Guy Robertson passed away at the Iowa sanitarium, Nevada, at eleven o'clock Monday night at the age of 42 years, following an illness of ten days from flu, which developed into pneumonia. Funeral services will be held at the Church of Christ Thursday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. DeLoss Marken, of Des Moines, former pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. Chas. L. Duxbury, local pastor. Burial will take place in the Maxwell cemetery. Mr. Robertson's death came as a great shock to the community which has been his home for the greater part of his manhood years. He was universally liked and respected."
THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday March 26, 1931, page 1. "GUY A. ROBERTSON - Guy A. Robertson was born Sept. 8, 1889, in McClain county, Illinois, and departed this life March 16, 1931, at Nevada, Iowa, age forty-two years, six months and eight days. He was united in marriage to Mabel Enfield March 5, 1913. To this union were born three children, namely, Aileen, Inez and Raymond, who with his wife survive him. He also leaves to mourn his sudden departure, his mother, Mrs. M. C. Robertson, three brothers, Ray, Earl and Glenn, all of Maxwell, and one sister, Mrs. Della Scott, of Des Moines and a host of relatives and friends. His father preceded him in death July 12, 1909. Guy united with the Christian church of Maxwell in 1909 and always been a faithful member, and at the time of his death was serving as a deacon of the church. Funeral services ere held at the church at 2:30 o'clock, Thursday, conducted by Rev. DeLoss Marken, of Des Moines, former pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. C. d. Duxbury, local pastor. Pallbearers were deacons and elders of the church. Burial took place in the Maxwell cemetery. Thus closed the early life of a citizen who was universally liked and respected and whose death came as a great shock to the community which had been his home the greater part of his life. Relatives and friends in attendance from out of town were: Mr. and Mr. Sam Fasnot, H. E. Laselle, Mrs. Bessie Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. John Cunningham, Austin Graybeal, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Nolle, Mr. and Mrs. Art McClung, of Des Moines; Mrs. Mae Sprague, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Elliott, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Elliott, of Berwick; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Stoffer, of State Center; Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Borts, of Nevada; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Borts, of Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Batson, Loren Batson, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Meekins, Mr. and Mrs. Clair Reed, Mrs. Nora Barton, Myrta McCormick, Homer McCormick, Mr. and Mrs. Merle McCormick, Mrs. Dora Dunn, Helen McCormick, of St. Anthony, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Robertson and family, of Marshalltown. APPRECIATION - We wish to express our sincerest thanks and appreciation to the friends who came to us in our hour of trouble, and contributed all that human kindness could suggest, to help and comfort and although such devoted friendship cannot remove the sad memories that linger around our vacant chair, it brings into view the brightest side of humanity, and throws the pure light of an unselfish friendship into a darkened home.
