THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, December 20, 1906, page 1, column 5. "DEATH OF MRS. RAY - Mrs. Charles Ray died at her home, 2 miles north of Maxwell, Wednesday morning, December 19th, at 11:30 o'clock, aged 25 years. A husband and one child, a girl of 4 years, are left to mourn the wife and mother. Funeral services will be held in the Christian church Friday morning, Rev. B. H. Coonradt officiating."

THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, December 27, 1906, page 1. "OBITUARY - Mrs. Maude Edna Ray was born near Iowa Center December 18, and died at her home, 2 miles north of Maxwell, December 19, 1906, at 11:35 a. m. being 25 years, and 1 day old. She was married to Charles Ray on the 24th day of October, 1899, to which union one child has been born, whom, with a husband, parents, brothers and sisters and many other friends near and dear, she leaves to mourn her loss. On the 28th day of Sept 1906, at the joint reception tendered to Pastors G. E. Roberts and B. H. Coonradt and the new members, Mrs. Ray came forward and confessed her Savior. On the following Sunday, September 30, she was "buried with the Lord in baptism," and was thereby made a member of The Church of Christ. It is evident that she continued to live a christian life adding the christian graces, to the hour of her death. And there is every reason to believe that "being absent from the body she is present with her Lord." The funeral was conducted from the Maxwell church of Christ on Friday morning at 10 o'clock by B. H. Coonradt, assisted by G. E. Roberts, her former pastor, and interment was made in the Maxwell Cemetery."
