Theodore Thompson Dies in Story City Hospital Thursday
Theodore B. Thompson, 81, Roland, died at the Story City Memorial Hospital at 8:30 p.m. Thursday. He had been ill for the past two weeks.
Born December 19, 1884 in Morris, Ill., he was the son of Andrew and Malinda Thompson. He armed in the Roland area until 1929 when he moved to Roland. He worked at the Roland canning factory until it closed and then as a carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Julia; two grandchildren, Mrs. John Sams of Ames and Miss Janet Jacobson of Mankato, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Emily Cress of Ft. Dodge and Mrs. Julia McBrayer of Los Angeles; and a brother Andrew of Danvers, Minn.
Preceding him in death were his parents, seven brothers, a sister and a daughter, Alice Waugh.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland. The Rev. Lybeck will officiate. Soderstrum Funeral Home will be in charge.
