Funeral Services Are Held Today For Eugene H. Hemping
Funeral services were held this afternoon (Monday) at 1:30 p.m. for Eugene (Gene) H. Hemping, former Colo resident. Hemping for the past 14 years had resided in Des Moines. Services were held at the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada with Rev. Duane Manning of the Colo Methodist and E.U.B. Churches in charge. Burial was in the Colo Cemetery.
Hemping, 82, was born November 21, 1883 near Colo, the son of John N. and Mary Louie Hemping. He was a member of the Dalton United Brethren Church.
Survivors are a son, Clifford E. Hemping of Des Moines; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Evelyn) Sweitzer of Mexico, Mo.; Mrs. Edward (Maxine) Truman of Los Angeles, Calif. and Mrs. W. K. Brandt of Des Moines; a sister, Mrs. Herbert White of Colo; eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
