Ovidia Anderson, 72, Dies At SC Hospital Tuesday Evening
Mrs. Ovidia B. Anderson of rural Story City, 72 years of age, died at the Story City Memorial Hospital at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday. She had been a patient there for four months with cancer.
Mrs. Anderson was born Dec. 15, 1893 at Williams, Ia., the daughter of Peter and Hannah Tjernagel.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Elim Lutheran Church at Randall with Rev. Quentin Quanbeck officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery near Randall. Friends may call at the Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City until time of services.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A.C. Anderson, a former Ames radio announcer, on Dec. 9, 1958 and by two daughters.
Survivors are two sons - Arnold Anderson of Randall and Orlin Anderson of Des Moines; two daughters, Grace (Mrs. Walter Benson) of Spencer and Bernice (Mrs. Milo Olson) of Randall; sixteen grandchildren; two brothers, Peter Tjernagel of Story City and Chris Tjernagel of Story City an Chris Tjernagel of Springfield, Va., and one sister, Bertha (Mrs. Bloyd Iverson) of Ames.
