THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, February 21, 1924, page 1, column 5. "J. W. RANDOL - John William Randol, son of George W. and Lydia A. Randol, was born near Peoria, Iowa, April 14, 1874, and departed this life February 13, 1924, being forty-nine years, nine months and twenty-nine days of age. He lived most of his life near Peoria, spending some seven years with his family in North Dakota. On March 19, 1896, he was united in marriage to Nellie M. Kulow. To this union were born eight children, seven of whom survive him, Paul having passed away in infancy. He is survived by his widow and the following children: Harold E., George F., Estellene M., William A., Alton C., Bryan W. and Maynard E. Randol. He also leaves two brothers and one sister to mourn his passing. Many years ago he made profession of the Christian faith and united with the M. P. church at Peoria. Later he affilated** himself with the Apostolic church while he was living in Dakota and had not reunited with the home church upon his return. He was one of the most faithful attendants of both Sunday school and church services. A most splendid citizen and neighbor as attested by the kindly feeling of the entire neighborhood where he was so well known. He was a kind loving husband and father and in his passing the community suffers a distinct loss. Funeral services were held from the Peoria church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. C. R. Gre__. The sermon was taken from Eccl. 12:1, 5, 7. Burial was in the Peoria cemetery."
