THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, November, 1964, page , col. , “Edyth Elizabeth Pritchard, daughter of William C. and Mary Etta Pritchard, was born on September 3, 1883, on the Bryn Mawr farm 3 miles east of Maxwell. She moved to Maxwell in the year 1928, where she lived until her death in the Story County Hospital, November 11, 1964, at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 8 days. She spent the greater part of her life in tender and loving care of her parents until their departure and at this same time gave a great part of herself by sharing her intelligence with the concern and well-being of her nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Methodist Church, and an active member of Annie Laurie Chapter No. 293, Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. Surviving are three brothers, Roscoe R. of Nevada; Flavius G. of Collins and William W. of California; Ten nieces and three nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m., in the Maxwell Methodist Church, with Rev. J. E. McClellan officiating. Don Myers, accompanied by Judy Godby at the organ, sang, “In the Garden” and “A Closer Walk With Thee.” The floral arrangements were in charge of Hazel Hurst and Ruth Holsinger. Casket bearers were John Fish, A. M. Christy, Jack Coughenour, E. J. Travis, C. B. Rittgers and Kenneth Smith. Eastern Star services were in charge of Annie Laurie Chapter No. 293. Interment was in the Iowa Center Cemetery.”
