THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, March 2, 1899, page 1, column 2. "Obituary. - Harriett E. Richardson Perry, wife of Ned Perry of this city, was born on the old home place at Elwell, Iowa, December 23, 1862, and died at her home in Indianola, Feb. 20, 1899, aged 36 years, 1 month and 27 days. Her life was spent at the home of her parents until 1883 when she came to this city and entered Simpson College where she became acquainted with Mr. Perry to whom she was married Oct. 23, '84. To them were born four children, Grace who is now 13, Russell 11, Dorothy 6, and Harriett aged 4 years. For her loved ones she would have lived, for she was a devoted wife and mother, but the decree was inexorable and to it she quietly submitted and gently passed away in sleep. Mrs. Perry was a most estimable lady, loved and respected by all with whom she had to do, and had she been blessed with good health was a lady mentally calculated to be of great usefulness in society. She was an active working member of the Presbyterian church, also of the Delta Tau Delta society of the college, both of which will greatly miss this good woman. In disposition she was a model, in her home a true wife and mother, and it is in the home that this loss is irreparable. She leaves a husband and four children who will continue to remember this gentle person as the best gift of God to them. The funeral occurred from the home Tuesday at 2 p. m., and was largely attended by the people of the city. Rev. Hopkins, her pastor, officiated. Mr. Perry and his children have the fullest sympathy of the community in this their day of greatest sorrow. - Indianola Herald. "
