DEATH

Anna K. Houge*

Funeral services for Anna K. Houge were held Monday, June 25, at 2 p.m. at the Palestine Lutheran Church with Pastor Ernest Thompson officiating.

Mrs. Noel Larson, organist accompanied Mrs. Arlin Sheldahl and Omar Brendeland when they sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "The King Is Coming."

Pallbearers were: Orville Hauge, John Brendeland, George Lande, Herbert Hill, Wayne Seydell, and Robert Tesdall.

Burial was in Palestine cemetery, Huxley. Anna Karina Hauge was born November 11, 1875 in Hatlestrana, Norway. A daughter of Ole and Alice Hauge. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at a church in Kvindheret.

She was united in marriage on February 2, 1899 to Hans Hauge.

Shortly after their marriage they emigrated to America and settled on a farm north of Huxley where they made their home and she continued to live for 69 years.

Four children were born to this home. She was a member of Hauge's Lutheran Church in Huxley until it disbanded. She later joined the Palestine Church where she continued as an active member as long as her health permitted. She entered Bethany Manor at Story City in January 1968, where she passed away, quietly and peacefully. As she had lived, on June, 1973 at the age of 97 years, 7 months and 11 days.

She is survived by a son Ole of Huxley: two daughters, Altetta Wee of Huxley and Hannah Tesdall of Story City, a stepson Helmer of Blue Earth, Minn.; 7 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 12 great great grand children.

Preceding her in death were her parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister all in Norway, her husband who passed away in 1933; a daughter Ellen Kenison in 1952 and a stepson Ben Hauge.

Always a kind and thoughtful mother and friend, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but we thank God for her love and guidance these many years.
