SILAS N. ESPE
A former Story City resident, 76 year old Silas N. Espe, died suddenly of an apparent heart attack on Monday morning at his home in Stockton, Ill. He moved to Stockton a year and a half ago.
Born on Aug. 10, 1896 in Radcliffe his parents were Ole and Sarah Espe. On Sept. 10, 1925 he married Mabel Seversike in Eldora.
Espe was a member of the Stockton Lutheran Church, a W W I veteran, a 54 year member of the American Legion and a retired farm implement mechanic.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. C. A. Gisselquist at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Burial will be in the Story City Cemetery with military rites.
Survivors include his wife, one daughter Sandra, Mrs. Emery Munson of Stockton, one brother, Henry of Radcliffe, one sister, Mrs. Emma Stensland of Blue Earth, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Friends and relatives may call at the Soderstrum Larson Funeral Home from Wednesday noon until time of the services.
