DEATHS
Mrs. Myrtle Helgeson
Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle J. Helgeson were held from Zion Lutheran Church near McCallsburg. Pastor Perry Heller conducted the services at 2 p.m. Monday afternoon, Oct. 2.
Mrs. Truman Nelson was organist and Mrs. Robert Friest and Mrs. Ralph Lee, soloist.
Casket bearers were Earl Sime, George Larson, Laverne Seversike, Stanford Matchie, Arnold Vickre and Ralph Skartvedt. Burial was in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Myrtle Jeanette Helgeson was born June 13, 1901 on a farm south of Radcliffe. She died at the Story City Memorial Hospital on Sept. 29th at the age of 71 years.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church where she was a life-long member and active in its work.
In 1946, she was united in marriage to Henning Helgeson and lived on a farm south of Radcliffe until she moved to Story City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Julia Sime, her husband Henning, and her sister Ida and brother Irvin.
Survivors are her stepsons Henning Helgeson, Jr. and Kerner Helgeson, five brothers, J. A. Sime and Myron Sime of Fairmont, Minn., Ernest Sime and Russell Sime of Humboldt and Telmer Sime of Rolfe, six grandchildren, 14 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
