Services on Tuesday for Greta Burnett
Mrs. Greta Burnett, Oak Park Manor, passed away at 6:40 a.m. Saturday after a heart attack. She had been in failing health for three years and had made her home the Manor during this time.
Mrs. Burnett lived on a farm north of Nevada most of her life until her husband died 3 1/2 years ago.
Greta Huddlestun Burnett was born August 30, 1895 to Harry L. and Daisy Huddlestun. She was married to R.J. Burnett on August 10, 1913.
Seven children were born, six of whom survive: three daughters, Mrs. Fern Finnegan, Panama City, Florida, Mrs. Dorothy Matheason, Story City, Iowa, Mrs. Florence Clayberg, Ames; and three sons, Robert, George and Howard all of Nevada. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert J., her parents, a brother, Glen and an infant daughter, Anne.
She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and charter member of the Valley View Club.
Services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 28, at 1:30 p.m. from the Ryan Funeral Home, with Rev. Marvin Hulse officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
The family will be at the funeral home Monday evening for those who wish to call.
A memorial fund has been established.
