DEATHS

Mrs. Lida Swinbank

Mrs. Lida Swinbank, 84, formerly of the Colo and Collins communities, died early Wednesday, July 11, at a nursing home in Portland, Ore. She had been a patient at the home for two years and her health began failing the past three months.

Born Oct. 13, 1887 in Story County, she was the daughter of Hnry and Mary Bullock.

Surviviors include her daughter, Mary Marth, Mrs. Paul Roberts, and one brother Tom Bullock of Nevada, Iowa.

Preceding her were parents, husband and four sisters, Mrs. Anna Hart, Mrs. Agnes Swinbank, Emma Smith and Sadie Wilkening.

Funeral services were at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 15, at St. Anthony's Church, Tigard, Ore.

The Rev. David Hitchcock, O.F.M., officiated. Interment was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Portland, Ore.

Bill Wilkrning of Collins and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Jacobs of Nevada flew to Oregon for the funeral, leaving on Friday and returning Monday.

Mrs. Swinbank's husband, John S. Swinbank, who was born on Sept. 1, 1879, died on Oct. 27, 1971. His funeral services were conducted 9:15 a.m. Oct. 30, 1971 in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Tidard, Ore. The Rev. John Peterson, O.F.M. officiated.

He was buried in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Portland, Ore.
