DEATHS
Harvey M. Nassen
Funeral services for Harvey M. Nassen, 80 years of age, Story City, were held Wednesday July 5 at 2 p.m. from the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City. Rev. O. M. Severseike of Ames, and the Rev. C. A. Gisselquist, were in charge of the service.
Soloists were Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Sansgaard who sang, "Beyond the Sunset" and "How Great Thou Art" with Mrs. Harold S. Olson, organist.
Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.
Pall bearers were Sanford Duea, Harlan Tjelmeland, Larry Baty, Dwayne Tjelmeland, Ernest Sansgaard and Merle Durby.
Harvey Maynard Nassen was born in Hamilton County to parents Rudolph and Anna Flygstad Nassen. On August 20, 1921, he was united in marriage to Stella Durby. They farmed in Story County near Roland and at Goodell, retiring in 1960 and then moved to Story City in 1962 He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include his wife, Stella; three daughters and two sons: Mrs. Harland (Myrtle) Harper of Radcliffe; Mrs. Leon (Ruby) Triggs of Dickens, Mrs. Marie Baker, Harlan and Paul Nassen of Denver, Colorado; eight children and six sisters, Mrs. Arthur Hovick and Mrs. Bertha Tjelmeland of Story City; Mrs. Ora Tjelmeland of Nevada, Mrs. Caroline Shafland of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Theresa Huston of Des Moines and Mrs. Ruth Howard of Albuquerque, New Mex.
His parents, a brother and a sister preceded him in death.
