THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, December 23, 1965, page 1, column 1. "SAM MEYERS DIES - A former resident of the Nevada area, Sam Meyers of Brooklyn died at the age of 67, from a heart attack, in the Grinnell Hospital. Death occurred at 12:20 p. m. Friday, December 17. Meyers was the son of Urias and Elizabeth Meyers of Maxwell. Surviving him are his wife, Gay Clark and 3 children, Ray of California and Merle and Gretchen of Cedar Rapids, six sisters and two brothers, Gertie Bresler of Culver, Calif., Lottie Mead of Welcome, Minnesota, Edna Hennick of Maxwell, Bertha Porter of LaPorte, Ind. Lizzie Brown of State Center, Orphia Myers** of Nevada, Arlie Myers of Plesanton and Everett of the home. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 21 at the Bremer Funeral Home in Brooklyn. Graveside services were held at 2 p. m. at the Brethren Cemetery south of Maxwell." **Editorial note, Myers was the way the surname was spelled for Orphia and Arlie, Meyers is the way the surname was spelled for Sam.
