THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, March 15, 1962, page 2, column 2. "ORA M. MEYERS - Ora Martin Meyers, son of John S. and Sarah Ellen Witmore Meyers, was born January 8, 1899 in Polk County, Iowa. He was united in marriage with Emma K. Hayes on October 12, 1921 at Des Moines, Iowa. To this union were born 3 children. After living and working all his life in the Maxwell community, he passed away March 4, 1962, at the Story County Hospital in Nevada, Iowa, at the age of 63 years and 2 months. His survivors include, his wife, Emma; two sons, Ora, Jr. of Des Moines; Leroy A. of Las Vegas, Nevada; one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Esther) From of Ankeny; one step-son, Clyde Brown of Maxwell and seven grandchildren. He leave to mourn his passing, his many friends and loved ones. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 6, at 2 p.m. at the Cooper Funeral Home, with Rev. Harold Smith officiating. Mrs. Alice Gooden accompanied by Mrs. Madeline Summitt at the organ sang, "Beyond the Sunset" and "Under His Wing." Casket bearers were Keith Munson, Marold Witmer, Keith and Kenneth Meyers, Francis and Forrest Allen. Interment was in the Brethren Cemetery." "CARD OF THANKS - The kindness and sympathy of neighbors and friends in our recent sorrow will always remain with us a precious memory. Our sincere thanks and gratitude, for all those comforting acts. The Ora Meyers family."
