THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, September 20, 1900, page 1. "In Memory of Hazel Meyers - Hazel Irene Myres** was born June 15, 1899, died August 31, 1900, aged one year, two months and twelve days. "A precious one from us has gone A voice we loved is stilled, a place is vacant in our home which never can be filled. God in his wisdom hath recalled The blossom love had given, And though the body moulders** here, The soul is safe in heaven. Beneath the sod in sweet repose Is laid our darling little pride, a flower that scarce had waked to life And light and beauty ere it died. We had a little Hazel once, she was our joy and pride, We loved her, ah perhaps too well, For soon she slept and died." **Editorial, spelling from the newspaper article is used. ELIZABETH MEYERS. - Mary Elizabeth Gooden, ... until she was married to Samuel Peter Meyers, February 20, 1896 in Jasper County... She passed away on November 18, 1960..... To this union was born six children, 4 girls and 2 boys. She was preceded in death by 3 daughters, Hazel and Ina in infancy and Margaret in 1935, her husband, Samuel P. Meyers in 1952, her parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by 2 sons, Kenneth and Keith of Maxwell and a daughter, Mrs. Neva Rodefer of Des Moines,....
