THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, June 5, 1902, page 10, column 1. "In Memoriam. Mrs. Lyda McNall was born in Clinton county, New York, June 24, 1822, and died in Maxwell, Iowa, June 1, 1902, age seventy-nine years, eleven months and seven days. She was married to Uriah McNall in Bombay, Franklin county, New York, in 1844. Seven children were born to this union five of whom are living. Mr. and Mrs. McNall were among the early settlers of the Peoria City vicinity and were among its most influential citizens. Mrs. McNall was a member of the M. E. church in New York but when she came to Iowa she united with the M. P. church until she moved to Maxwell, she again united with the M. E., thus having been a consistent member of the Methodist church the greater part of her life. She lived to a ripe old age and was ever cheerful and did every act of kindness that was in her power. She was always at her post in the church and, even during the last year though her health was very poor, she took great interest in all church work. The funeral was conducted by Rev. O. F. Shaw at the M. E. church and the body was taken to the Peoria City cemetery where it was laid to rest by the side of her husband who had gone on before. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all."
